The children will be creating their own class rules and will continue to use the Beye Laws…
I will be using the Responsive Classroom Approach for management. Classroom management is a grandiose part of teaching and consists of many aspects; mainly being proactive to produce the type of behaviors that are needed for a caring and engaging learning community. Logical consequences will be used for times of need. The three types of logical consequences are:
OTHER CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT TOOLS INCLUDE:
Student Vs. Teacher Points:
Each week the students work together as a class to earn “student points.” Student points can be earned by showing positive behavior such as: following directions, being rock stars in the hallway, or working hard on a project in the classroom! However, it is their goal to try and beat me. For example, if students are struggling with following directions or students are being too chatty, I would then give myself a “teacher point.” If the students beat me by the end of the week, they will earn Free Choice Friday.
Whole Class Reward:
Once again, the students have to work together as a team to show awesome behavior during their specials (music, gym, art, etc.) If the students receive a good report from their specials teacher, I will add a “warm and fuzzy” to the Whole Class Reward Jar. Once the jar is filled, I will reveal a surprise. The surprise could be a class party, extra recess, movie day, etc. This is a great opportunity for students to show respectful behavior during their specials.
